Transportation
Our work in transportation has a strong emphasis on infrastructure. Euro Log first introduced project risk management to European air traffic control in 1983; our work in that sector has remained an important focus of our air transport-related activity.
In 1994, we brought our pedigree in project risk management to the UK rail infrastructure business, where it was applied in assessing the inventory of capital projects being inherited from British Rail by Railtrack. Since then, Euro Log has been involved in urban, regional and national rail industry projects across Europe, establishing a standard of investment and project support that represents best practice throughout the industry.
Our work embraces PFI and PPP undertakings in the UK. Through our Enterprise Risk Management offering, it extends to the development and practical implementation of opportunity and risk management across all business functions. Our clients in the UK have included infrastructure operators, train operating companies and rolling stock leasing companies. We routinely support contractors as well as owner/operators.
Euro Log has deployed specialist skills in the provision of quick-response management information on rail timetable conflicts, system bottlenecks, available operating windows for track work, capacity conflicts with contractual commitments to train operators, future tonnage movements and related track wear. This work has involved data extraction and synthesis from legacy and other disparate operational information systems.
In road transport, Euro Log has introduced risk management into the development and planning of highway schemes on behalf of public sponsors, as well as for private bidders in PFI toll road projects.
